Prior to launching his own business, Oduwa gained extensive experience in multinational organizations across Management, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Project Management. His dynamic career path underscores a relentless pursuit of knowledge and professional development. He holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification and shares his expertise as an adjunct professor at Boston University.
Born and raised in Edo State, Nigeria, Oduwa moved to the U.S. in 1995 to further his education. He holds two master’s degrees from Boston University—one in Project Management (MSPM) and the other in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)—and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
Oduwa lives in the Greater Boston area with his wife and four children. He enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family during his leisure hours.

Originally hailing from Ethiopia, Hilina immigrated to the United States in 1987, mastering English as her second language and achieving her high school diploma and associate degree concurrently at the young age of 17. Her educational journey extended to the University of Massachusetts, where she pursued her undergraduate studies, and in 2017, she attained her MBA in International Marketing Management from Northeastern University. In her pivotal role at Meet Boston, Hilina leads a variety of initiatives to expand Boston’s tourism and hospitality industry. Her responsibilities encompass diverse areas, including human resources, membership development, financial strategy, leisure destination services, marketing and operations, and revenue generation.
Prior to her role at Meet Boston, Hilina accumulated over 15 years of invaluable experience at Ahold Delhaize, a prominent international grocery retail giant. Managing 150+ direct reports across 22 stores, she led a team of 3,600+ employees and oversaw an annual revenue budget of $805 million. Her exceptional leadership skills earned national recognition, solidifying her position as a trailblazer in the industry.
Beyond her professional achievements, Hilina is deeply committed to initiatives promoting women’s empowerment, particularly in underserved communities. She actively serves on prestigious boards, including her new role as Chair of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, BECMA (Black Economic Council of Massachusetts), The Network of Executive Women (NEW), and the Woodward School for Girls. Currently, she co-chairs the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Destination International. Her contributions have garnered widespread acclaim, leading to her induction into the Big Brothers Big Sisters “People We Admire” program and the honor of being named the 2019 ”Rhode Islander of the Year” by Rhode Island Monthly for founding the R.I.S.E. Women’s Leadership Conference.
Outside her professional commitments, Hilina treasures moments with her husband and two children, indulging her passion for travel. She actively engages with community-driven organizations such as Boston NBC and Telemundo Community Council, The Boston Arts Academy Foundation, and Save the Harbor. Her current initiatives at Meet Boston focus on partnership strategy, workforce development, supplier diversity, eco-tourism, and sustainability.

Segun, a recipient of the Impact Award, is a dedicated advocate for social justice and economic equality. He has played key roles in various organizations, including the Boston Police Camera Action Team (BPCAT), the NAACP, the ACLU, and the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA).
As the former CEO of BECMA, Segun successfully transformed the organization, expanding its membership, services, and reach. He championed legislation to improve procurement opportunities for diverse businesses and advocated for relief grants during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In recognition of his contributions, Segun has received numerous awards, including Boston Magazine's "100 Most Influential People" and the Boston Globe's "Man of the Moment" and "Bostonian of the Year." Currently, he serves as the Chief of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion for the City of Boston, where he is working to create a more equitable and inclusive economic landscape.
Segun stepped down from his role as BECMA’s CEO in December 2021 in order to join the Wu Administration as the Chief of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, beginning this role on January 3, 2022. In this new position, he is focused on making Boston a resilient, economically equitable, and vibrant city that centers people and creates opportunities to build generational wealth for all communities.

Emmanuel, a recipient of the Impact Award also directs the ADEA Community, which supports African Diaspora living in the US and leading in social impact projects to build more sustainable and impactful projects across Africa. He is also a trustee of the Massachusetts Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, a board member of the Massachusetts Workforce Association, and the Lenny Zakim Fund.
Emmanuel is also passionate about the African Diaspora, the environment, and healthy communities. He enjoys walking around his neighborhood with his young family.

Throughout his career, Babatope, a recipient of the Impact Award, has worked with prestigious organizations, including ExxonMobil, Saipem, Tata, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Bank of Montreal (BMO), and Roche. Currently, he serves as a Senior Salesforce Solutions Consultant at Deloitte Canada, where he has played a pivotal role in designing and supporting key initiatives, such as the COVID-19 Vaccine Administration and Compliance Platform for the BC Government and the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Babatope holds a First-Class Honors degree in Engineering from King’s College London and a Master’s in Process Systems Engineering from Imperial College London. Recently, he completed an MBA program at the University of Cambridge, England, United Kingdom.
Beyond his professional achievements, Babatope is dedicated to mentorship, offering free Salesforce training, and fostering diversity in the Salesforce ecosystem through his community initiative, Blackforce, which he established during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Olukunle Akinbosede joined Liberty Mutual Insurance, the fifth largest personal insurance carrier in the U.S. with over $24B in premium, in May 2019 as VP, Global Retail Markets Technology Strategy & Operations.
Olukunle, a recipient of the Industry Leader Award led his team in all aspects of planning and budgeting for the Global Retail Markets Technology organization and supported over 30,000 employees through Technology teams in 16 diverse markets. He also has oversight on projects that explore emerging technologies and strategies to establish the technical vision for the future.
Olukunle holds an undergraduate degree in computer science from Wayne State University, an MBA from Michigan State University, and an MSc. in management from the University of Oxford, UK.
Based in Detroit, MI, he enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two sons and daughter.
Olukunle is active in the Youth and Singles Ministry for his church, where he is the Regional Pastor overseeing the Youth And Singles across 90 churches.

Dr. Addy contributes her expertise to various boards and committees, including Women in 3D Printing and Midlothian Angels Network, and leads the Technology Track at the TIPE conference. Her role in these organizations further establishes her as a key influencer in the tech industry.

Ade serves as an independent non-executive director on several boards including the stock broking division of Stanbic IBTC, Nigeria’s largest publicly listed bank.
Mr. Adesanya holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (University of Houston), a master’s degree in engineering and industrial management (University of Southern California) and a certificate in finance (UCLA).

Olamide’s notable work includes transformative projects in collaboration with prominent organizations such as the Ford Foundation and the US Embassy in Nigeria. These initiatives include repurposing waste tires into sustainable products and enhancing educational infrastructure. Her efforts have significantly advanced sustainability and community engagement.
Olamide is a distinguished fellow of numerous esteemed local and international fellowships, including She's a fellow of the Watson Institute, The Tony Elumelu Foundation, Techwomen, the Obama Foundation, and many others.

Joel, a recipient of the Innovative Award also founded several impact-oriented initiatives like; Tech4Dev, a non-profit social enterprise that creates access to decent work and entrepreneurship opportunities for Africans through digital skills empowerment and advocacy, reaching two (2) million people annually; Emerging Communities Africa, a non-profit focused on catalyzing technology ecosystems in rural and suburban communities across Africa and GloEpid, a health tech non-profit focused on using data and AI to predict infectious disease outbreaks and support disease contact tracing.
He is a graduate of mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and a member of the Forbes Technology Council, an Advisory Board Member of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, and an inaugural chair of the Innovate UK KTN Global Alliance African Advisory Group, Joel is passionate about democratizing opportunities for young, underserved populations, the convergence of innovation and sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, arts, and an ardent golfer.

Dr. Gbujie, a recipient of the Leader In Public Award is the founder of Team 54 Project International, which leads collaborative initiatives with NGOs, youth-based groups, and some African governments, implementing sustainable projects across Africa, Latin America, Small Island Nations, and Asia. His work spans environmental advocacy, healthcare access, corporate sustainability, public health education, human rights, global sustainable development goals, social determinants of health, and climate action.
Dr. Gbujie's academic credentials are extensive, including a foreign-based dental degree, a U.S.-based postgraduate degree in Public Health & Global Health, and a Master’s in Business Administration, with a Harvard certification in advanced clinical research, advanced trial management systems, global disease burden research, and bioethics from other recognized institutions across the globe. His ability to mobilize communities and inspire the next generation to develop local solutions for pressing challenges is widely recognized.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Gbujie led efforts to support stranded Africans and immigrants, earning recognition from international bodies and governments. Dr. Chidubem Daniel Gbujie’s legacy is one of relentless dedication to making the world a better place. His work continues to inspire millions across Africa and beyond, motivating others to find innovative solutions to the pressing challenges of our time.

These are the go-getters, the dreamers who've built and maintained thriving career and businesses that are changing the game. Their dedication to their communities is nothing short of inspiring. These individuals have been making meaningful contributions for years, and they've proven their mettle through their unyielding determination and relentless hard work. This award is a tribute to their pioneering spirit and their ability to set trends and lead the way for others.

Navigating academia as a person at the intersection of numerous visible and invisible identities, Wami faced many challenges, including being expelled from her first PhD program. However, with the unwavering support of mentors, she overcame systemic barriers and made history.
Wami, a recipient of the Trailblazer Award, is committed to paving the way for future generations, demonstrating that while she may be the first, she certainly won’t be the last! Her dissertation dedication powerfully states: “For all the little Black girls who were told that they could not climb…let them witness your ascension.”
Wami currently works as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Kaosoluchi, a recipient of the Trailblazer Award’s advocacy for equity and belonging in higher education continued when she matriculated to the UCI School of Medicine. She championed and is the co-founder of a four-year academic thread entitled LEAD-ABC (Leadership in Education Advancing Diversity- African, Black, and Caribbean) for the purpose of “producing future physicians who are committed to serving African, Black, and Caribbean communities in California, the United States, and beyond” LEAD-ABC is an institutionalized student support structure that also promotes well being and optimizes each student’s ability to excel as a trainee.
While in medical school, Kaosoluchi also completed her MBA with a concentration in Physician and Healthcare Executive in order to optimize reform efforts and create systems that address the needs of underserved communities through a business of medicine lens. Kaosoluchi works to address health inequities, with a focus on racial trauma – stress stemming from the experience of racial discrimination. She aims to treat patients holistically, taking their racial and social context into consideration. Eventually, Kaosoluchi would like to advise institutions on how to do this on a larger scale and consult on the creation of other mission-based programs like LEAD-ABC around the country.
For fun, Kaosoluchi loves to travel, go on new adventures, work on graphic designs for her clothing line, and spend time with loved ones.
