Olawumi Akinwumi, known affectionately as Ola or Olasco, is a dynamic leader and the current Deputy Director of Programs at Arts Boston. With a profound background in event management and public relations, she stands as a pillar in the live entertainment and social media landscapes. Ola’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through her ownership of AfroDesiaCity Productions LLC, an independent powerhouse in event management.

Ola's career trajectory includes a pivotal tenure as the Director of Hibernian Hall at Madison Park Development Corporation, where she was instrumental in promoting the cultural heritage of Roxbury. With over a decade of experience, her expertise spans across nonprofit sectors, youth advocacy, and affordable housing initiatives, reflecting her commitment to community development.
Ola's academic credentials include an MS in Communications Management from the Simmons School of Management and a BS from a renowned institution in New Hampshire, initially focusing on Tourism Planning and Development. Her career kickstarted at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, laying the groundwork for her ascent in the hospitality and events management industry.
