The “Ufot Family Cycle” Launch

We had an incredible time yesterday at the Boston City Hall where we joined nationally acclaimed playwright Mfoniso Udofia and The The Huntington family for the launch of “The Ufot Family Cycle.”

This remarkable project, inspired in part by August Wilson’s Century Cycle, follows one Nigerian American family through three generations, offering a deeply moving and authentic narrative that resonates with us all.

“The Ufot Family Cycle” is an unprecedented two-year city-wide festival, uniting theatres and arts organizations around Greater Boston to produce this cycle of plays. We’re thrilled to be part of this initiative, in partnership with universities, social organizations, non-profits, and a host of community activation partners.

At NPG, we are always eager to highlight positive stories about African professionals and their immense contributions. Supporting Mfoniso Udofia’s vision aligns perfectly with our mission to celebrate and elevate the narratives of African professionals.

A special thank you to Kevin Becerra, Associate Director of Artistic Programming & Activation, and Oswaldo Pereira, the community engagement Manager at the Huntington’s for the warm introduction and collaboration. We are honored to be on this journey as official partners and look forward to the transformative impact of these plays.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to celebrate our roots and heritage through this powerful storytelling journey.
